Dans la forêt exposure presents four new series, which forge links between organic matter and rituals. Drawings, photographs and engraved woods dialogue, create bridges between the visible and the invisible, the light and the dark, the secular and the sacred. The set is presented in a scenography which interweave the mediums and resonate with some of the intrinsic qualites of the space which welcomes it. The works displayed at the Grande Fontaine Gallery, gathered three series which question shamanic practices; the photographs Entrances, the performative drawings Canalised landscapes realized under modified state of consciousness as well as the portraits Animals of powers, engraved and enhanced with colour pencils. Presentation of works realizes within the cultural project The experience of a city, initiated by Marcel Schiess, in collaboration with the photographers Matthieu Gafsou and Milo Keller. The exposure is directed by Lada Umstätter, curator at du Musée des Beaux-Arts in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Jean-Christophe Blaser, curator at Musée de l’Elysée in Lausanne and Christophe Brandt, director of the Swiss institute for the photography preservation in Neuchâtel. The series A natural presence proposes a view on the gardens in terraces in city of La Chaux-de-Fonds, where the flora regional finds a broad place among the crop plants and trees. Inheritance of the city, the gardens redefine the concept of public sphere and private space.
